My name is Matthew Caldwell, a 22 year old multi-disciplinary Designer / Creative from the Midlands, currently on placement
at the foxy GBH. I have a passion for Experiential Design, Campaigns and Typography but consider myself an all around creative human. Ultimately driven by ideas, I strive to create fresh and playful work that makes people smile.
This year, aside growing some inconsistent stubble, I have been awarded by D&AD with a New Blood Pencil and a One To Watch
Award for Best in Show at the New Blood Design Festival. I have
also gained experience at the stripe-tastic Jack Renwick Studio
and buttery-Barbican-based studio Red&White.
Travelling the world and meeting new people fuels my passion for
the world of Design. I have had conversations with howler monkeys
in Costa Rica about the future of print, made a book about my experience of altitude sickness in the Himalayas and sketched a Metal-Head mountain guide called Juan at the Southern tip of Chile.
On another note, I'm one of the last surviving Aston Villa fans
(a keen centre back myself), a collector of an unholy amount of
vinyl and beer bottles with an impeccable history of dance off wins.
